Role
Microsoft Advertising is looking for a highly motivated Senior Pricing Manager to join the Microsoft digital advertising Monetization community. As an industry leader in the advertising market, the decisions made on this team shape and impact not only the future of Microsoft but of the entire industry.
The position will consist of data analysis to identify revenue opportunities, designing solutions to capitalize on those opportunities and convincing others to implement your designs. While there will be a heavy focus on pricing the scope of this position will not be limited to that alone.
The position lies within the Global Reserved Monetization team and the scope of this position will align with the greater charter of the team which is to teach R&D, Sales and Marketing how to maximize gross profit dollars.
Key Responsibilites
Pricing Strategy
Creating strategies for setting prices for near infinite permutations of advertising offerings
Data & Analytics
Generating innovative, advanced analysis to better monetize Microsoft assets.
Working with large amounts of at times inconsistent data and identifying patterns and causal relationships and being systematic in the approach
Communication
Working to create consensus on issues for multiple disciplines and/or programs.
Communicating effectively across the organization including with Microsoft senior management
Business Impact
Understanding competitor products and relevant business and industry trends and incorporating these insights into his analysis and recommendations
Policy Management
Designing and refining policies and exception approval processes
Key Competencies and Experiences
* Education: Bachelors degree with a focus on business, economics, operations research, engineering, computer science, math or related engineering/quantitative discipline; MBA/MS is desirable.
* Technical Experience: 6+ years prior experience in a quantitative, data-driven role in an operational or pricing/yield environment.
* Industry Experience: Ideally previous experience in pricing, preferably online or traditional media
* Trade-off Capability: Proven ability to make real-time decisions including balancing tradeoffs between client relationships and long/short-term financial returns.
* Organizational Agility: Ability to handle ambiguity, juggle many tasks at once and quickly shift from one situation or task to another.
* Communication: The ability to communicate and work with a wide range of people -across dispersed field teams, including sales teams, account management, engineering, product management, and senior management.
* Analytical Capability: A deep commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all analyses and reporting tasks.
